OBB
Making music is innate for the Oswald Brothers. As small children it was evident that they already had a unique musical ability. Their bond as brothers, and a desire to grow in their musical ability, brought them to the door of world---‐renowned Polish pianist, Piotr Folkert. Piotr and his wife provided the boys with a strong classical music foundation that helped them realize their true passion. When the brothers reached their teen years, they were busy doing what teens do, however, their path was changed forever one day while the brothers were studying Korean at a local Church; their father arrived with news that would change their teen years into dream years! David informed the boys that he had signed them up to play in a "Battle of the Bands" only later that day. In just a few hours they were able to put together a 30-‐minute set – a credit to and indicator of their childhood bond and early musical instruction. The boys easily took second place in the contest, and after seeing and hearing all the positive feedback, the The OBB was officially born.
Shortly after the Battle of the Bands experience, the Oswald’s Grandmother saw a television advertisement from CBS "The Early Show" about a competition - a "Singing Family Face Off". With her encouragement, the boys put together a video and entered the contest. Soon after the brothers were contacted by a CBS producer who notified them that they were in the top 20, and would be arriving to their Duluth, GA home to tape a segment for the voting. Much to their surprise, an entire camera crew showed up with the exciting news that they had made it into the top 6. The brothers were flown to New York to appear live on CBS "The Early Show". Performing Cheap Trick’s "I Want You to Want Me", the Oswald Brothers took 65% of the nationwide vote and Advanced to the semi-‐final round. Placing in the top 3 on CBS “The Early Morning Show” contest gave them the opportunity and exposure to perform multiple times on National TV.
Since their CBS experience, the Oswald Brothers have continued building their fan base through touring, social media and TV appearances on CBS Atlanta, NBC Atlanta, CBS Macon, NBC Macon, CBS New Orleans and NBC Albany. The Oswald Brothers perform regularly for churches and youth groups, while sharing stages with Switchfoot, Big Daddy Weave, Natalie Grant, Point of Grace, Byron "Talkbox" Chambers, SeaBird , KJ---52 and Anthony Evans.
In 2010, the Oswald Brothers recorded their first EP with producer Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra, Aaron Shust) and were featured on iTunes’ New & Noteworthy in December 2010. Shortly after the release of the EP, the Oswalds were asked to be the worship team for Passion Kids at Passion City Church, an Atlanta mega church Founded by Louie Giglio and Chris Tomlin.
OBB recently signed with Curb Records, one of the world’s leading independent record companies, and will be releasing their debut CD along the Winter Jam Tour.
